An defence official has revealed that the Ministry of Defence is currently examining the potential threats associated with Chinese vehicles, while staff have been advised to refrain from discussing secret information in all vehicles.

During a recently aired interview on a radio station, a defence minister addressed reports that Ministry of Defence officials have been instructed not to talk about secret material while riding in Chinese vehicles.
The minister said that the ministry is “examining” cars from China within its vehicle pools, however emphasised that security is a concern in all modern cars.

The announcement follows claims from Scandinavian countries have warned the UK to the presence of multi-purpose shutdown mechanisms in Chinese buses, which could enable the Chinese government to disable buses and bring disruption to public transit.
Additionally, a Russia intelligence vessel was reportedly directing laser beams at RAF pilots, described as a “extremely risky” act by government representatives.
