2K Games has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Management Shift Follows Lukewarm Feedback
Brinkman takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the exit of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' disappointing unveiling last autumn.
Recently, the company's top executive a key figure informed staff about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had revealed the necessity for a distinct vision.
Ismailer expressed that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a renewed focus, aiming to address player expectations.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
The news follows a comparable step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the BioShock development group.

The trust in this project strengthens every day. To further the outstanding progress you’ve made, I’m excited to introduce Ben Brinkman as the latest Director of 31st Union. After some time of conversations, Ben comes aboard us on the specified date.
His guidance and experience in the competitive gaming genre is considerable, having spent the past decade and a half developing and overseeing some of the most popular series in the industry, for example Call of Duty: Black Ops, and lately, the battle royale hit.
